Lighthouse Point Police charge two suspects with burglary thanks to ALPR from NDI
Recognition Systems
Technology from NDI Recognition Systems helped Lighthouse Point Police nab two suspected
burglars. The pair is charged with breaking into a home in Lighthouse Point and
stealing $15,000 of jewelry and silverware. License Plate Recognition Systems cameras from
NDI-RS captured pictures of the car used in the robbery as the suspects drove through
the city. A neighbor's security camera also recorded the vehicle near the scene
of the burglary. With this information, LHPPD was able to arrest the suspects and
get one to confess to the burglaries. The story doesn't end there, though. Two suspects
matching the description of the two apprehended in Lighthouse Point were caught
on surveillance video attempting to burglarize a house in Coral Ridge prior to the
Lighthouse Point burglary. An LHPPD sergeant saw News coverage of the incident and
identified the two suspects in the surveillance video as the two who were apprehended
in Lighthouse Point. Police in Lighthouse Point and Fort Lauderdale are working
to confirm the link between the two crimes.
Winter Park Police Department gets license plate readers
The Winter Park City Commission approved the purchase of four Automatic License Plate
Recognition (ALPR) systems from NDI Recognition Systems on March 25, according
to the Winter Park/Maitland Observer. The camera system purchase was funded with
federal forfeiture funds from drug arrests. The mobile systems will be mounted on
patrol cars, and will simultaneously capture plate numbers, analyze the reads, and
store all the data captured from vehicles while the officers drive. The system works
silently in the background, and alerts the officer when it detects a plate that
matches a predefined "hotlist". NDI mobile ALPR systems (Automatic License Plate
Recognition systems) provide law enforcement professionals with additional "eyes" on the road, and assist in recovering stolen
cars; identifying vehicles involved in Amber, Blue, and Silver Alerts; and locating
other vehicles of interest.

and Rapid Deployment System (RDS) units. Having another unit will allow the WBPD
to have ALPR systems (Automatic License Plate Recognition systems) cameras on the road during all its vehicle rotations.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department expands the reach of its camera network
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) is reorganizing and extending
the reach of its camera network, which includes Automatic License Plate Recognition systems (ANPR system) cameras from NDI Recognition Systems. The first cameras will be moved
in February, according to radio station WFAE 90.7. The CMPD electronic network was
upgraded in 2012 in preparation for the Democratic National Convention (DNC), using
a federal grant. Now that the DNC is over, police officials would like to shift
some of the cameras to higher-crime areas. The department would also like to partner
with private sector businesses to expand the areas that can be monitored for criminal
activities from its new command center.

Our ANPR Solutions
titanHz proposed using an ANPR systems(Automatic License Plate Recognition system) across these sites, and in
early 2012 installed ANPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) solutions at 95 of Asda's manned maximum stay car
parks. ANPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) is an automatic surveillance method that uses Optical Character
Recognition (OCR) on images to read vehicle registration numbers. Infrared cameras record
the registration numbers of vehicles entering and exiting the car park.
Benefits
There are a number of benefits of using the ANPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) systems. The cameras are
unobtrusive, inexpensive to run and more efficient than monitoring a car park manually.
They also operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, and generate robust,
reliable data. The software also includes useful features such as the option of
creating a registration whitelist, which ensures that certain vehicles.Commissioning
Smart Parking on a large-scale project such as this also has its advantages. Our
competitive package includes site surveys, installation, signage provision, maintenance
and enforcement, and our systems are tailored to the specific requirements of each
car park.
